This event was organised by Trees4kids and all of the saplings were provided by them.
Many tiny saplings were planted in the woods not far from the path where they will help to re-establish areas that had been trampled and were bare.
Saplings planted included Oak, Roan, Hazel, Hawthorn, Elder, Holly and Crabapple.
It isn’t difficult to get kids involved when its fun, like planting saplings.
Many passers-by got involved with the planting and enjoyed it so much they stayed and helped.
Here are some happy volunteers who enjoyed the planting, and finding the odd worm or two.
